The fourth installment of the annual TEDxADMU Conference, organized by the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association (AJMA), is set to be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The TEDxADMU Conference, previously based in the Loyola Heights campus, is moving to the state-of-the-art Newport Performing Arts Theatre in order to reach a much broader and diverse audience with the help of Resorts World Manila. The biggest existing TEDx talk in the country, TEDxADMU is expected to draw-in an outstanding 1,500 guests next year.
Running under the banner “Ideas Worth Spreading”, TED is a nonprofit organization and global community existing as a platform to impart innovative ideas in the fields of Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Through thought-provoking talks given by the world’s leading thinkers and doers, TED hopes to achieve its mission of finding a deeper understanding of the world through sharing powerful ideas.
In line with TED’s mission, the TEDx program was introduced to spark conversation at the local level. TEDx Conferences are independently organized talks that bring forth and connect people together through a TED-like experience, elevating locally-driven ideas to a global stage.
With the theme “Unspoken”, the upcoming TEDxADMU will revolve around the questions that people have to ask. Through this theme, the organizers hope to erase the everyday taboo prohibitions existing in society that hinder us from accepting our full selves, and give rise to ideas that can be cultivated in order to achieve a state of acceptance.
