Taxi Driver’s Funny Exchange with Passenger Who Left Phone in Car

 

When a passenger forgot her phone in the backseat of a cab, she didn’t the cab driver to be honest—and funny.

 This story was posted on Inday Sara Duterte’s Facebook page. Sara Duterte is the daughter of Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte, and the first woman to hold the Davao mayorship.

 

 

 

According to the post, the passenger was riding a cab in Davao. Suddenly, a phone rang in her seat and realizing it was the last passenger who left it, asked the driver to pick it up. “Driver agreed to return it but said that he still had a passenger (me) and that we were on our way to the airport.” After a few seconds, the owner called again, asking for the phone. The driver repeated that he will return the phone to the owner after he drops off the current passenger. Apparently, the phone owner doesn’t know about Davao’s reputation of having honest taxi drivers.

After the second conversation, the owner kept on calling, even though the driver wasn’t picking up. Because he was pissed, he finally picked it up, saying, “Madam, Davao taxi drivers are honest. When I said I will return it, I will. Just don’t pester me right now because I have a passenger and I don’t want to appear unprofessional. Besides, I don’t need your Myphone, I have an iPhone 4 given to me by my son who’s a seaman and another phone from GrabTaxi!”

Now that’s a taxi driver who handled the situation professionally (and a little comically).
