Tank Collector Finds $2.5M Worth of Gold Bars In eBay-Bought Army Vehicle

The saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” might have taken a more literal turn, after this man found gold bars worth £2 million ($2.5 million or over P100 million) in an old army tank!

Nick Mead military tank gold bars

Nick Mead in England is an avid collector of old military vehicles, and recently purchased a £30,000 Russian T54/69 tank off eBay. Yet little did he know that there was a hefty fortune concealed in its old barriers!

Nick and his mechanic found five gold bars hidden in the fuel tank, while restoring the vehicle, which was used in the Gulf War.

In an interview with The Sun, Nick said:

“We didn’t know what to do. You can’t exactly take five gold bullion bars down to Cash Converters without questions being asked, so we called the police.”

Nick’s team believes the gold was looted by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait during the Gulf War in the 1990s.
