It’s that time of the year we’re all itching to hop on a plane and wave “sayonara” to the city. We fantasize about clear blue waters and white sand beaches, blooming sakura trees in chilly weather, or endless shopping in bargain capitals. Sadly, for most of us this remains a fantasy.

Either because we don’t have the cash or the time to get away from our responsibilities, we usually end up whiling our time away in the city. But this summer, Sasa Asian Cuisine offers itself up as the perfect solution to this conundrum. Taking a break to grab a meal at Sasa might as well be like taking a trip. Take a look at our photos and you’ll soon see why!

A Mix Of Cultures On Your Plate

Sasa is one of those few great restaurants that can settle any argument about what kind of food you should be getting. Celebrity Chef Raymar Reyes borrows from cuisines scattered across Asia to artfully combine it all on a single plate. Sasa’s bestseller, the Fried Yatai Itame, is his take on an Asian inspired pizza of sorts, with fried lumpia wrapper as the base and a smorgasbord of veggies smothered in kewpie and their own special sauce. Trust me, this alone is worth the trip to Sasa! With playful takes on dishes like Lechon sisig, flavorful bao’s, and peking duck, you could totally imagine yourself traveling across the Orient.

Cool Off With Sasa Coolers

For this season only, Chef Raymar Reyes has masterfully designed a special summer menu for Sasa Asian Cuisine. From obvious offerings like their own unique take on the Halo-Halo, to more unlikely options such as their tamarind cooler with sago, these are sure to take your mind off the blazing Manila sun. Watching your waiter arrive at your table with a platter of these choices definitely feels the same as sipping an icy drink by the beach (or better).

Instagram-able Surroundings

You may be rolling your eyes at this one, but we all know that one of the best parts of traveling is getting to take amazing pictures. Whether you do it “for the ‘gram” or just for yourself, carefully constructing a photo is something that everyone experiences on a trip abroad. Those moments wherein a single image frozen in time can so perfectly encapsulate an entire culture or way of life is what we strive for in our camera roll. Just because you’re stuck in the city doesn’t mean you have to miss out on that when you have interiors like Sasa’s to fulfill your wanderlust needs.
