Zambales Beaches to Soon Reopen for Local Tourists

Tell your friends and family the good news: we may soon get to travel to Zambales once again!

In a Facebook post published over the weekend, the Department of Tourism has “vowed” to assist the local government in implementing health and safety measures in the province as it prepares to reopen its borders to local tourists.

The DOT will be funding a Visitor Management System for Zambales similar to what they did for Baguio City, continue its inspection and accreditation of tourism-related establishments, and provide additional capability-building training on the implementation of safety guidelines.

“As with all other destinations, I cannot stress enough the importance of enforcing the health and safety protocols. These should be strengthened through public information and communications campaigns. Knowing that these guidelines are in place will restore confidence in tourists visiting the province and assurance among the locals who will be welcoming visitors,” said Tourism Chief Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said during the planning forum last Friday, December 11.

She also cited the existing government assistance for tourism industry workers and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to help them recover.
