Women Empowerment and Literacy through Health Education

WIM WEALTH 2019 posterWomen Empowerment and Literacy through Health Education

For the past 85 years, the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority has tirelessly strived for the empowerment of women across different fields. Fueled by the passion of its members, the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority created the Health Education And Literacy (H.E.A.L.) program on the premise of evoking active participation among community members in matters of their own health. One of the many flagship projects under H.E.A.L. is the Mu Health Caravan.

With the outbreak of disbelief in centuries-old vaccination and to further impart priceless knowledge on health education, the Mu Health Caravan will be partnering up with ImMUnity: An Ounce Prevention. Also celebrating its 10th year, ImMUnity has diligently advocated for the prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases through proactive immunization.

This year, in celebration of National Women’s Month, the Mu Health Caravan, in partnership with ImMUnity, will be conducting Women Empowerment and Literacy Through Health Education (W.E.A.L.T.H.) Now on its 10th year, W.E.A.L.T.H. continues to encourage women of all ages and professions to live a healthy lifestyle and become responsible for their own health.

The event will be held on March 23, 2019 in Dinalupihan, Bataan. We will be conducting lectures on common health issues faced by women and women immunization. A free cervical screening, breast examination, and free vaccination will also be offered to the participants.

We believe that women are indeed the strongholds of their homes and communities. Join us as we continue to advocate for women’s health, empowerment, and vaccine confidence!

W.E.A.L.T.H. is co-presented by Insular Life and Merck Sharp & Dohme
