Days after he dominated headlines around the world for his “shocking” outburst involving fellow actor Chris Rock on the Oscars stage, Will Smith is now using his newfound skill to good use in the Slap-Fighting Championships.
The Slap-Fighting Championships, which had its inaugural event last March, welcomed Smith as its celebrity guest during its most recent match and pitted him against other YouTube and social media personalities that have also historically made jokes about his wife, Jada, and kids, Jaden and Willow.
The contest’s co-founders Logan Paul and Arnold Schwarzenegger immediately saw the potential in Smith during his altercation with Rock and were both pleased to have him onboard for this special version of the championship. “Who needs an Academy Award when you can be crowned winner of a real sport like slap-fighting?” said Paul, who is currently storing Smith’s Oscar statue for safekeeping among his Teen Choice Award trophies while the Academy deliberates on getting it back.
The competition was held on April 1.
