UP Fair 2013: For the Love of Music and Love Itself

When in Manila, you will never get less of its distinctive clamor. It is perfectly right that you give yourself a little solace of some sort. Good thing it is February and in the University Of The Philippines (UP), February means a lot more than the usual month of hearts. A week of music, frolic, and food is what awaits you when you descend into the famous Sunken Garden of UP Diliman.

UP Fair, the biggest college music festival in the country, features the best local artists of this generation plus all kinds of interesting bits and pieces like food booths and recreational activities like wall-climbing and various fair rides for only a hundred pesos.

Last week, I and my college friends planned to go to the fair to at least cut the pressure from school for a while. Surprisingly, my friend from WheninManila.com asked me if I can accompany her in covering an event and when she said it is about UP Fair, I enthusiastically replied “YES!”

When in Manila’s respective media representatives, along with other media sponsors — Rakista.com and RX 93.1 Monster Radio, enjoyed free backstage passes. Luckily, I will be covering this musical event for two days (with free passes, isn’t that cool?).
