Of the more than 10 million Filipinos abroad, two segments are notably growing: students (who are on scholarships or are exploring immigration pathways) and professionals (who hold white-collar jobs, especially in healthcare and IT). Their achievements, challenges, and aspirations take center stage at the second installment of the Overseas Filipino Expo.
Among the featured speakers at the whole day event are scholars and study abroad experts Eva Marie Wang and Ma. Regina Arquiza, Angat Pilipinas founder Burn Gutierrez, and Couples for Christ Migrant Ministry’s Gitte Quintos. They will lead discussions on foreign scholarship opportunities, financial literacy for OFWs and their families, and insights from former OFWs who are now thriving back in the Philippines.
The book launches of Winning Study Abroad Strategies for Filipinos (Abroad Me: Student Edition) and Money Troubleshooters will also be held at the event. These latest titles from PageJump Media aim to educate those who are planning and currently studying or working overseas to make the most of their opportunities while abroad.
The 2nd Overseas Filipino Expo is happening on June 8 (Saturday) at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall MR-A in Mandaluyong City. Interested participants may also explore various services and products exhibited at the expo (such as from SunLife, StudyNorthBC Philippines, and Vision International) that are tailored to OFWs and their families.
