“I am incredibly proud and deeply humbled to have been elected to the New York State Assembly by the people of our communities. Throughout this year, I have been blessed to meet so many people all across our neighborhoods and to hear and see their stories, and their struggles – many of which I have shared in. Our voices – as Asian Americans, immigrants, and working-class people – have so often been ignored and overlooked. It is truly an honor to be entrusted by my community to represent them and fight for them in Albany. I promise that I will serve our communities with all of my heart and will continue to fight for safety, equity, and justice for all.”

Raga ran his campaign focused on issues of affordable housing, community safety, expanded healthcare access, and senior support. The newly drafted borders for Assembly District 30 include Woodside, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Maspeth. The district is one of the most diverse districts in the state and is majority AAPI. Steven Raga will be the first person of color to represent Assembly District 30.
