LOOK: Senator Risa Hontiveros’ Activism Goes Way Back in High School

Best known for being a health care and women’s rights advocate, Senator Risa Hontiveros is also utilizing and dedicating her position in the Senate to address social injustices through her platforms and commitments.

But did you know that her activism started way back when she was still in high school at St. Scholastica’s College?

Several people and groups, including Senator Risa in her highshool days, campaigned against the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant which never started operations due to potential threat to public health as it was located in an earthquake zone and near a volcano formation.

This shows us that no one is ever too young to care for the country and for the Filipino people.
