Radio Station Wave 89.1 Signs Off

The FM radio station announced the news on Monday night, bidding farewell to its supporters through the years. “The end is here,” it began.

While our hearts are pinched, we want to announce that Wave 89.1 has made its final broadcast.

“So many memories. Good times and bad. Laughter and tears. We changed the game. No one can say otherwise,” it added.

Wave 89.1 also expressed gratitude to DJs, managers, directors, technical staff, guests, and everyone who had been part of their programs. “We did a lot of great things together! It’s a sad day for all of us, but we’re gonna remember all the amazing people and music that came through our airwaves,” it said.

Christian radio station Adventist World Radio (AWR 89.1) has reportedly started broadcasting in its place.

“Metro Manila’s source of the best R&B, hip-hop, and rhythmic contemporary music” started its broadcast in 1975.
