Pasig City Awarded Most Business-Friendly LGU by PCCI

Pasig City has been awarded the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) under Category 1A- cities in Metro Manila. Mayor Vico Sotto shared the news on his Facebook Page along with a photo of him receiving the plaque from President Bongbong Marcos.

He also acknowledged how far they have come and reminisced about how it started. “Ang layo na ng narating natin. In 2019, PCCI invited me to a forum, where I shared our new administration’s commitment towards good governance reforms, narrowing in on the Ease of Doing Business. Many of them shared their thoughts, suggestions, and even grievances. We listened and got to work,” he wrote.

“Three years later, they invited me again, but this time to recognize the city government for its efforts,” the mayor stated. He also enumerated some of the LGU’s efforts: “In three years, we have reduced the number of steps to get permits, established a business one-stop shop for the central business district, entrapped corrupt officials… and so much more.”

According to Mayor Vico, this is just the beginning. Systems and physical improvelents in the Office of the Building Official, a new business one stop shop for our city’s northern quadrant, continuous capacity building for our personnel, atbp.,” he announced.

Finally, he expressed his gratitude to the people who helped make it happen. “Salamat at congratulations sa lahat ng nagtrabaho at tumulong, sa pangunguna ng ating City Administrator’s Office at Business Permits and Licensing Department,” the Pasig City Mayor concluded.
