News reporter shares selfie, turns out it’s an “embarrassing” post

GMA News reporter Joseph Morong is known for posting summaries on Twitter whenever President Rodrigo Duterte addresses the nation in regards to IATF updates on COVID-19.

However, on June 15, he trended for a different reason, which he described as “so embarrassing.”

The reporter shared a selfie while he was waiting for the president to address the country and provide updated COVID-19 lockdown measures. However, he didn’t notice that when he took his selfie, it caught a part of his computer screen that showed a post from a gay porn site that he follows on Twitter.

Eagle-eyed netizens spotted this. Morong said that if this wasn’t pointed out to him, he would have not noticed it.

He has since deleted the post but people online were quick in getting copies of the said photo.

Morong apologized for this online blunder.

He quipped that it might be time to clean up the list of accounts that he is following on Twitter.

Despite this, Morong was still able to share the summary of last night’s COVID-19 update from the president. A key takeaway is that Metro Manila will be on extended general community quarantine un June 30.

His online gaffe received a mix of positive and negative reactions from the netizens, but most were words of encouragement for the news reporter.

One even recommended that he make an alter (An alter, as used as a secondary account, will often pen questionable messages that otherwise disrupt the community or break the forum rules).
