While most bars and clubs take the route of flashy, exorbitant, and sophisticated, Moonshine Bar offers a more homey type of exclusivity with its cozy interiors that feature brick walls, wine barrel table tops and spacious couches in chocolate brown and deep maroon. Having recently opened early this year, Moonshine Bar’s relaxed urban watering-hole vibe has attracted a number of after-work yuppies and weekend bar-hoppers around the Jupiter Street area in Makati.

Moonshine Bar offers some interesting cocktail concoctions to match the casual feels they’ve got going. Their signature cocktails contain the perfect blend of mint, lemon, lime, fruit juices and herbs like basil and mint all mixed in with sufficiently strong spirits – talk about unlikely combos! Expect to taste a bit of the zesty, fruity, and strong with Moonshine’s Jungle Juice (their best seller), Green Sting, and their namesake cocktail, the Moonshine.

Who knew cocktails can be so flavorful? Don’t let their yumminess get to you, though, as these cocktails pack a powerful punch and can give you the spins with just a glass! The Juicy Lucy Wagyu Burger: Grilled 100% Wagyu beef patty with a molten cheese center, house-crafted sauce, tomato chutney, iceberg lettuce, picked onions (PHP 380)
Completing the package are your standard cheesy and meaty grub to ease away the copious amounts of alcohol you’ll most likely be chugging. We highly recommend their Juicy Lucy Wagyu burger, which features an enormous 100% Wagyu beef patty stuffed with gooey molten cheese – hearty food that does the job of curing your drunken munchies quite well.
Bacon-Dusted Fries: Crispy fries sprinkled with bacon dust and topped with bacon fat mayonnaise (PHP 190)
Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese: Emmental, Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese on macaroni (PHP 280)
Baked Salmon: Fresh salmon fillet with a creamy cheese topping baked until golden brown (PHP 420)
Also running along the lines of basic yet decadent bar chow are their Bacon-Dusted Fries, which have two of our favorite food groups (bacon and fries – duh) and Truffle Mac n’ Cheese, which boasts of a strong truffle-y flavor that is offset by a comfortingly rich cheddar taste. For more cheese-heavy and filling fare, try their Baked Salmon smothered with a creamy cheese topping.
S’mores: Roasted marshmallows with 3 kinds of chocolate (PHP 180)
Then, end your night-out on a sweet note with some Mini S’mores, which come with the essentials and your very own miniature bonfire from a tin can! This definitely takes the cake for the coolest dessert I’ve seen in a while.
