Filipino singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre and her husband, Jason Hernandez, have confirmed on Tuesday evening, May 31, that they are separating.
“It is with a heavy heart that after 3 years of marriage, we announce that we are parting ways,” the couple said in a joint statement shared on Jason’s social media accounts. “Our love and respect for each other remains. We request for privacy during this difficult time.”
Jason further admitted on his post that he had “been unfaithful” to Moira recently which may have been the cause of their breakup.
“3 years ago, I married my bestfriend with the intent of spending the rest of my life with her. Though my love for her has always been genuine, a few months ago, I confessed to Moira that I have been unfaithful to her during our marriage. I believe that she deserved to know the truth rather than continue down a “peaceful” but dishonest path. I take full responsibility and I’m doing my best to be better,” he said.
“This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. But since you guys have been with us from the start, it is only right that you hear this straight from me,” he added. “From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry for everyone I hurt. Especially Moi.”

It was last April when a rumor that trouble was brewing in their marriage began to circulate online after a fan of the “Ikaw At Ako” singer alleged that she deleted her posts with Jason on Tiktok and Instagram. At the time, Jason, went on Twitter to verbally quash the rumor and assure fans that they were still married and that Moira did not “cheat” on him. Meanwhile, Moira posted on Instagram Stories to tag Jason on a picture of his favorite food.

The two musicians married in January 14, 2019. They got engaged in April 2018 during a music video shoot for Moira’s song “Tagpuan.”
