It seems like Marvel isn’t done representing Filipinas just yet. Right after Wave, another Pinay superhero is going to debut in the Marvel Comics!

Last July 26, Greg Pak, who co-created Wave, announced on his official Twitter that a new “awesome” Filipina superhero is going to be introduced this September in the third issue of Aero. Half-Filipina writer Alyssa Wong and artist Pop Mhan are set to introduce the character with Pak.

Wong was tasked by Marvel Comics to write Wave’s backstory. She has a Nebula Award, a Locus Award, and a World Fantasy Award under her belt.

It’s an exciting time for comic book fans. There’s a certain kind of pride that comes with seeing yourself represented in a major publication such as Marvel. The diversity in the creative teams are really reflected on the page and we can’t wait to see what more they have in store!
