Mama Lou’s: Food and Service That Feel Like Home

When it comes to restaurants, good food is only one thing that makes people keep coming back for more.

What really makes people come back, though, is the service. At least that’s what we think. In fact, whenever we find a restaurant where the staff and owners are incredibly friendly, accommodating and make us feel at home, we always make it a point to go back again and again and again.

One of these places is Mama Lou’s.

Mama Lou’s has a long history – one that is filled with family, food and love – and you can feel that history whenever you dine at their restaurant. Located along Tropical Ave, Las Pinas of BF Homes, Mama Lou’s primarily serves Italian food. In fact, that’s how I got to know Mama Lou’s to begin with. I was craving for some really good lasagna and one of my friends suggested the place. I was not disappointed. After that, Mama Lou’s became my go-to spot for pasta whenever I celebrated anything of significance – be it a promotion, a new job, a higher paycheck, or good grades for my daughter.

Here are some of our favorite dishes at the place:

mama lou's french onion soup

French Onion Soup – Php250

So delicious, you can easily finish it up on your own.

mama lou's escargot

Escargots – Php395

So happy to have found delicious escargots in the South!!!

mama lou's bacon cheese fries

Bacon Poutine

The perfect appetiser or pulutan for sharing. The bacon is very different – soft and not as feeling-unhealthy, but still delicious!

mama lou's drinks

Mama Lou’s Iced Tea – Php75 and Apple Carrot Juice – Php100

Even though I hate carrots, I couldn’t help but keep sipping on their apple carrot juice.

mama lou's steak

The steak at Mama Lou’s is so tender and flavourful, you’ll want to gobble it all up. At Php695, it is well worth it.

mama lou's pasta

I have always loved Mama Lou’s Lasagna and Ravioli Spinaci, but I have learned that trying out different types of pasta is a good move. Nothing has disappointed so far.

mama lou's blueberry cheesecake

Mama Lou’s Cheesecake – Php180

Unlike other cheesecakes out there, there is nothing nakakauyam about this one.

Another must-try dish? THEIR RISOTTO TARTUFO FUNGHI!!! It is to die for! But don’t just take it from me. Try everything one by one yourself because, trust me: you will keep coming back to Mama Lou’s. They will make you feel like family.

The owners make it a point to make everybody feel at home and ensure that everybody who works there does the same thing. If the South is too far for you, fear not! They have a branch in UPTC now, too. 🙂 You may also get real cash rewards whenever you dine at Mama Lou’s with your Zing Rewards card! Find out more about Zing Rewards here.
