Makati Business Club Survey: Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Best, Office of the Vice President Worst Performing Government Agency

The Makati Business Club has published its latest Executive Outlook Survey, which serves as a gauge on the perception among business executives on the performance of the various government agencies for the last year. Read on to learn who did well and who didn’t:

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and the Department of Tourism have been voted as the three best performing government agencies, while the Bureau of Customs, the Department of Transportation and Communications, and the Office of the Vice President were named as the least performing government agencies during the latest Makati Business Club Executive Outlook Survey.

With their various business interests and contacts in many fields, the members of the Makati Business Club are well placed to give a meaningful assessment of the performance of the many government agencies they are dealing with on a regular basis and the survey, which includes a total of 64 government agencies, has been conducted for a number of years now.

In its latest edition, 38 agencies received positive net satisfaction ratings, with 31 agencies improving on their rankings from last year. The top improvers based on last year’s rankings were the Senate (+26), the House of Representatives (+13), the Department of Trade and Industry, the Board of Investments, the Office of the Ombudsman, and the Department of Budget and Management (all +11).

Twenty-four agencies, on the other hand, received negative net satisfaction ratings, with the Energy Regulatory Commission (60th), the Department of Agriculture (61st), the Bureau of Customs (62nd), the Department of Transportation and Communications (63rd), and the Office of the Vice President (64th) making up the bottom five.

In total, 67 corporations and other entities participated in the survey, representing 16.6% of  the 404 corporate members of the Makati Business Club. You can read more about the survey on the MBC website:
