When in Manila and looking for new refreshing beverages to perk up your day, I highly recommend you try out the newly launched Ice Blended drinks at Kopi Roti!
Here’s a confession: Aside from their signature Kopi buns, it’s actually their SiewMai (siomai) which keeps me coming back!!!
… I know this may sound a bit weird to you (‘coz they’re famous for their Kopi buns), but yeah, Kopi Roti for me, makes the BEST SIOMAI in the world! I swear! No exaggerations whatsoever. Go try it yourself, and tell me what you think after!
And so, I had a serious siomai craving again the other day, that I decided to go on an “emergency” foodtrip to Kopi Roti Morato!
I haven’t been here for quite a time, so I was delighted to see the newly renovated interiors and better lighting. I love the new ambiance and it definitely feels more like a “Cafe” now. I learned from their staff, that their branch has been recently relaunched and along with that, was also the launch of their new line of ice blended drinks!
You see, through the years, Kopi Roti has been known for their kopi buns, kaya toasts that go perfectly with their hot kopi and tea beverages. If you’re a Kopi Roti regular, I’m sure you also have your own favorite snack and drink combo… but now, I pretty much predict that you will fall in-love with at least 1 of these new icy creations.

As you can see, the prices are still affordable, so I didn’t hesitate to order and taste all their new ice blended drinks! Allow me to tell you about each:
Iced Barley: If you’re into drinking something very healthy, then go for their Iced Barley drink. In case you’re not yet aware, barley is a whole grain rich in vitamin B-complex, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, selenium, zinc, copper, protein, amino acids, dietary fiber, beta-glucans and various antioxidants.
For kopi (coffee) lovers, they offer the KR Kopi Mocha and KR Zilla. I like the KR Kopi Mocha better due to its subtle bitter notes. The KR Zilla is equally tasty but a little sweeter, so if you have a sweet tooth, I say go for the Zilla drizzled with caramel!
KR Dinosaur: Kopi Roti’s take on the classic Milo Dino is sure to satisfy both kids and kids at heart.
Homemade Iced Tea: Wooahh! Iced Tea lovers, behold the arrival of your new soon to be favorite! An absolute palate pleaser! Winner to pramis!
Ruby Red Tea: Saving the best for last! Apologies for being a bit biased on this one, but I would have to say that this Ruby Red Tea stood out from the rest! It reminded me of that icy drink I used to enjoy when I was a kid. I can’t believe that after soooo long, I’d get to taste this kind of flavor again. I tried to asked what’s it made of, but the staff said it was a secret. hehehe This is seriously addicting and I will definitely order this again! Berry Delicious!
