Huawei releases lightweight, water-resistant wearable device  with revolutionary sleep, health, and fitness tracking capabilities

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology solutions provider, today unveiled its new lifestyle and fitness wearable smart-device for sleep, health, and fitness tracking — the HUAWEI Band.

Designed with equal emphasis on durability, performance and style, the water-resistant device is well suited for tracking daily activities, automatically recognize walking and running and calculating the calorie burn. Inspired by a minimalist and ergonomic Nordic design concept, the HUAWEI Band is encased in a scratch resistant steel body, and topped with a OLED touch- display with 128-by-128 pixel resolution. The device also comes with a comfortable, yet durable diamond-patterned strap that is available in three colors – black, cream and white. 

Also adding to its durability, the HUAWEI Band is water resistant up to IP68, allowing it to operate in the rain and moist conditions.

In terms of its monitoring capabilities, The HUAWEI Band offers highly accurate and intelligent tracking powered by its industry-leading A-Sensor technology. The Band also runs on advanced Huawei algorithms that enable it to distinguish between walking and running without the need of presetting. And when it comes to downtime, the device’s built-in Cap Sensor can even distinguish between users’ idle and sleep states, letting them monitor their resting patterns and make lifestyle adjustments where needed. The HUAWEI Band even includes a stand reminder that notifies users when they’ve been sitting idle for too long.

As for communications, the HUAWEI Band shows notifications for incoming calls, and smart alarms directly on your wrist.

With regard to power, the device has a built-in magnetic-charging design, allowing the users to charge the Band easily.  The Band can be powered up in just one-and-a-half hours. This provides it with enough energy to operate for three days without the need for a recharge.

The HUAWEI Band is compatible with devices running Android 4.4.4 or above and iOS 7.0 or above.

Priced at P2990, the device will be available on March 18, 2016 in all Huawei and partner stores nationwide.
