Home of French Toast: A Taste of Home in Food Bazaars

 

Food bazaars are everywhere, whether it be your friendly neighborhood weekend market or your favorite late night sale.

I went around Mercato trying to find something good to eat. I was tired of burgers, barbeques and rice meals, so I was hoping to find something new for a change. That’s when I found the Home of French Toast.

 

 

Home of French Toast or HOFT only started earlier this year, hoping to bring something new to the table. Jessica, co-owner of HOFT, first prepared French toast for her friends and family at home and decided to turn it into a business. They are proud to say that all of their ingredients in making their French toast are fresh out of their kitchen, like the brioche bread, chocolate ganache, mango jam, caramel sauce and marshmallow cream. This ensures that the customers get nothing but quality products and a distinct taste, the true signature of HOFT.

HOFT has participated in Ultimate Taste Test, Midnight Mercato and now the Banquetta at The CCP. 

 

 

For now, they are only offering two flavours, both concentrating on sweets: the Mango Tango and the Chunky Monkey. The display looks really good and I am sure that you will have a hard time deciding what to get. Good thing they have bite-sized pieces that you can try.

 

I love fresh mangoes, so I decided to try the Mango Tango first.

 

Mango Tango is made out of HOFT signature Brioche Bread smothered with Pecan Nut Cream Cheese topped with Mango Jam with bits and Caramel. This can pass as a dessert or a stand-alone snack; it is very hearty and filling. With every bite, you can taste the crispy nuts that blend perfectly with the Mango Jam and Caramel while the bread beautifully melts on your tongue.

 

 

 

Chunky Monkey is made out of Brioche Bread with Dark Chocolate Ganache, Marshmallow Cream, Fresh Banana slices with a dash of Crispy Almonds. You will go bananas for this. In fact, according to HOFT, this is their bestseller. With the Marshmallow Cream and Chocolate Ganache blended together, it is sure to spoil your sweet tooth.

I love French toast. My mom used to make some every morning before I went to school, so seeing this being sold in food bazaars really made my heart and tummy happy!

 

 

Every time you order a piece at the Home of French Toast, it will be sliced into bite-sized pieces and you will be provided with gloves, so you can eat with your hands. Each one can be very heavy on the tummy, though, so remember to visit them with a big appetite.
