Happy Andrada Unveils Gown and Bridal Robe Collection Inspired by Modern Filipino Courtship

An advocate of Philippine culture, Happy Andrada launched her one-of-a-kind gown and bridal robe collection called Harana. The designer took inspiration from the modern Filipino courtship (ligawan) with creations named after Filipino words such as Harana, Kilig, Kundiman, Ligawan, Sinta, Tadhana, Iniibig, etc. A marriage of modernism and tradition, Happy Andrada created Barong bomber jacket, coat, blazer, and dresses and also did a contemporary take on traditional outfits such as the Mestiza, Terno, Camisa, and Patadyong.

The creations are made with Organdy, Silk, Lace, and paired with Philippine woven Pineapple fabrics that feature hand embroidery techniques from Lumban, Laguna. By using locally sourced materials, she is able to support Filipino skilled artisans who produce these specially made fabrics.
