WATCH: Affordable Street Food Version of Japanese Dishes Is a Hit in Cebu

Go Morita, a Japanese national and the man behind the top-selling street food version of Japanese food in Cebu, was interviewed by GMA News recently.

According to the report, Morita’s street food version of various Japanese food such as tonkatsu sandwich and rice bowls are a hit to Filipinos in IT Park Cebu. In his pseudo-store, which he calls “Go Go Tokyo!!”, Morita sells Japanese street food at very reasonable prices. Most Japanese dishes are sold at PhP 100 or more. Morita’s food items are available at prices between PhP 25 and PhP 40.

Due to the super low prices, many Cebuanos patronize his food, especially call center agents working in the area.

When Morita opens his store at 10AM, it just takes around an hour and then all of his products already get sold out.

Morita’s business gained greater popularity when he created a Facebook page for Go Go Tokyo. In the said page, he posts photos about his store.
