This photo of an egg beat Kylie Jenner as the most liked post on Instagram ever

A regular photo of a brown egg against a white background just broke an Internet record as the most liked photo on Instagram. Last we checked, it had nearly 25 million likes, beating Kylie Jenner’s post by about 7 million likes. It was able to gain this number in under 10 days.

The account @word_record_egg captioned the post: “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.” In a message to Buzzfeed, the account holder explained the post as a simple challenge whose only purpose was to gain more likes than Kylie Jenner. They explain that it was “nothing personal”.

The previous most liked Instagram post was Kylie Jenner announcing her baby’s name Stormi Webster. The sweet statement was beat by what looks to be a stock photo of an egg. Although according to the account holder, who fashions themselves as Henrietta a British chicken, the egg is actually her son. In the same message to Buzzfeed, she states: “Eugene is my egg. The power of the egg is strong.”
