The free agent center has signed on a three-year, $70.5 million deal with his hometown team, the Atlanta Hawks! According to various reports, the contract averages $23.5 million in salary, the highest amount for a center so far in free agency.
Dwight is a native of Atlanta and attended the Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. Reports say that Howard was motivated to come back home and boost the Hawks in the Eastern Conference.
Dwight was the No. 1 pick in the 2004 NBA draft, and has averaged 17.8 points and 12.7 rebounds in his career with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.
