CHED: Med Students From SUCs To Receive Full Tuition Subsidy

There is no doubt that entering medical school is one of the most difficult educational endeavors that one has to face. However, this challenge would be more impossible to accomplish if you don’t have enough resources.

Good thing, the government has decided to help out aspiring doctors in achieving their dreams. Just recently, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) released a memo regarding a program that provides full tuition subsidy to students of medicine who are enrolled in State Universities and Colleges.

According to the memo, “qualified student-grantees shall be entitled to one hundred percent (100%) tuition subsidy based on the actual tuition by their respective SUCs.”

CHED Commissioner Prospero De Vera also stated that, “this financial assistance for medical students will be implemented this year in accordance with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s budget message in the General Appropriation Act 2017.”
