Caraganons Support Earth Hour with a Unique Camp Out Event

for wim

For just one hour every year, we are all invited to focus on  our sincere commitment to taking care of our planet earth — and that can be whether you turn off your lights for an hour, go stargazing, have a candlelit dinner, anything basically that can allow us to refocus and recommit ourselves to helping our planet.  Earth Hour is not just an idea, a new-age gimmick, it’s a movement, and one that we should always be eager and excited to be a part of.  Since the campaign was launched in Australia a decade ago, our country has been consistently at the forefront of this campaign and we were even dubbed as an Earth Hour champion for several years. Doesn’t that make you proud that we’re not just dreamers?  We’re doers!

This year, the Caraganons make a commitment as well, to stand side by side their fellow Earth Hour supporters as they also participate during the Earth Hour by having a Weekend Camp Out at the Calo Horse Farm in Cabadbaran City in Agusan Del Norte on March 25-26, 2017. This event is spearheaded by individuals that make up the teams of SpermologistsButuan and Backyard Adventures as well as local outlet OX Outdoor Exchange Butuan. The event also has the support of the Department of Tourism Region 13.

This is the second part of the Camp Out Series that the organizers plan to have running throughout the rest of the year. The idea is simple, to introduce the idea of camping to those who have never tried it. The organizers usually look for campsites that are accessible by car,  privately owned to ensure security, have the basic amenities such as washrooms and also have electricity outlets available for them should they need it, because well, normally, these are some of the basic concerns that first time campers ask about when they are invited to go camping, the washrooms are especially for the concerns of the women.

The Camp Out Series is also about having activities that allow their campers to interact with one another – the first part of the hour is for campers to register and set up their tents or hammocks at the Calo Horse Farm, here the organizers also prepare simple games that will allow interaction among the campers. As the sun sets, outdoor dinner will soon commence, immediately followed by a fire dance performance and a POI  workshop by Cagayan de Oro freeflow artist “Hexa.” The night will wind down with an outdoor movie, one of the key highlights of the event. Campers may also opt to sit around bonfires prepared at the campsite where music from their guitars as well as singing will be much encouraged.  Prizes will also be given away with an Android Phone being the biggest prize for the event.

So When in Butuan, Cabadbaran, or anywhere around the region, if you are from Caraga, you are invited to join this Earth Hour event!
