The ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Remake Reunites The OG Cast But Is Much Stranger Than You’d Expect

We first got news months ago that popular 90’s show Beverly Hills 90210 would be making a comeback with a remake. The difference with this remake versus the scores of other reboots we’re already seeing? Most of the original cast members will actually be reprising their roles for the six-episode special season. Another difference that’s only just been revealed? It’s not exactly a continuation of the story we know and love. In fact, we’re not even sure it’s set in the same universe.

Apparently, the plot of the show centers around the original cast playing themselves as they discuss and reunite to create a reboot of Beverly Hills 90210. Sound confusing? There’s more. They’ll be depicting themselves as highly exaggerated versions and in highly exaggerated situations. “We wanted to leave it to the audience to decipher what’s real, what’s based on something real, what’s completely fictionalized,” Tori Spelling said at a Television Critics Association event.

The show will also feature some dream sequences and throwback nods in order to hit the proper notes of nostalgia. At least we can more or less count those scenes as fictionalized… I think.

BH90210 will feature 7 of the original stars. Returning to the screen are Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Gabrielle Carteris.
