The local government has announced that it will begin regulating the use of plastics with the goal of preserving its natural beauty.

Entry, sale, and use of PET bottles, cling wrap, non-biodegradable plastic bags, plastic vomit bags, straws, coffee stirrers, cutlery, cups, and styrofoam food packaging are strictly prohibited, while the entry, sale, and use of PET bottles bigger than 500 ML, cellophane plastic pouches for local bread and condiments, biodegradable garbage bags, pre-packaged juices, food items, and commodities, and styrofoam boxes for cold storage will be limited.

Customers are required to bring their own reusable bags when shopping or going to the market.

Local businesses who will not comply will be fined up to PHP3,000. People caught littering will also be subject to penalties.
