Avatar Sequel

The Avatar sequels keep getting pushed back but it looks like there’s going to be progress since they will start shooting soon.

According to producer Jon Landau, “Our #Avatar sets are ready — and we couldn’t be more excited to be headed back to New Zealand next week.”

He also shared a new photo of two boats that will be used for the film. He said, “Check out the Matador, a high speed forward command vessel (bottom) and the Picador jetboat (top) — can’t wait to share more.”

It may be surprising that they will continue shooting given the COVID-19 pandemic, but New Zealand has handled the situation well. There have been no new cases of COVID-19, with the total number of confirmed cases remaining at 1,154. The country has recorded 21 deaths.

To date, there are four Avatar sequels that are scheduled for December 17, 2021, December 22, 2023, December 19, 2025, and December 17, 2027.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver are set to return, and they will be joined by Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, and more.
