Astronomy Week: Here’s When and Where You Can Watch Free Planetarium Shows This Month!

In celebration of National Astronomy Week this month, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) will be treating the public to a week of free planetarium shows and stargazing activities!

PAGASA will be holding free shows at its Planetarium on Agham Road, Quezon City as well as telescoping sessions at its Observatory located at the University of the Philippines Diliman from February 17 to 23, 2020.

Entry will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Planetarium shows will be conducted from 8 AM to 5 PM every day while stargazing sessions at the Observatory will start at 7 PM. Interested visitors are encouraged to reserve a slot beforehand.

Other than free shows, PAGASA will also be conducting seminars and workshops on Astronomy for public science teachers in Iloilo City on February 21. They will also be offering free mobile planetarium shows in the city on February 21 to 22.

This year’s National Astronomy Week is also in commemoration of the 100th year of the International Astronomical Union.
