5 Reasons Why You Can’t Miss the Return of “Alchemy Of Souls”

I can’t be the only one absolutely obsessed with the Korean fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls. Actually, I’m sure I’m not. After all, the series stayed on the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) chart for an impressive 15 weeks!

Well, Alchemy of Souls will finally be back soon – on December 10, 2022, to be exact – and to say I’m excited is a gross understatement. With so many stories left unfinished, here are 5 reasons why you can’t miss the return of the series.

5 Reasons Why You Can’t Miss the Return of Alchemy Of Souls

5. Jang Uk’s Evolution

We’ve witnessed Jang Uk (Lee Jae-wook) go through immense hardships. From coming from a prominent mage family but not having any magical skills to having to find his way with minimal support. He even dies and then comes back to life. (Best scene ever.) I can’t wait to see the reborn Jang Uk kick some butt.

4. The Return of Naksu

Not a very popular opinion but I was so bummed when it dawned on me that Go Youn-jung would, in fact, not be playing Naksu for the rest of Season 1. The posters and trailers have gotten me so excited because I really want to see her in the role of this powerful sorceress and assassin… especially after experiencing love and the incredibly heart-wrenching part that came with it.

3. The Bromance

I absolutely love the bromances in Alchemy of Souls, particularly that of Jang Uk and Crown Prince Go Won (Shin Seung-ho). The jade scene lives forever rent-free in my mind! I can’t wait to see more of them. Hopefully, their relationships will stay the same despite everything.

2. The Romance

Without the B, the romance in Alchemy of Souls is also well worth the watch (though I’m honestly more into it for the fantasy and the action). Still, now that Naksu looks like the original Naksu, will that change how Seo Yul (Hwang Min-hyun) goes about things when his first love is involved? There are many other relationships to root for too. Have Park Dang-gu and Jin Cho-yeon (Arin)’s lovely plans changed? How about Park Jin (Yu Jun-sang) and Maid Kim (Oh Na-ra)? Will some of the single men find new love interests? I’m intensely invested in seeing happy couples in what is, hands down, my favorite KDrama this year.

1. The Fate of Everything

Alchemy of Souls has delighted us with an intricately woven plot with a deeply rich storyline and engaging characters. With the epic story set to wrap up, the fate of the fantastical world of Daeho and all its characters remains the biggest question. What will happen to this majestic realm we’ve thoroughly fallen in love with? Only time will tell when the story continues on December 10!

If you haven’t watched the show yet or you need a refresher on what has happened thus far, now is the perfect time to stream! Be ready and don’t miss out on the return of Alchemy of Souls, only on Netflix!
