Partywizards.biz presents Sugar Hiccup back to back with Charmi Santos at 121 Grille and Restaurant
Partywizards.biz is proud to present the band, Sugar Hiccup and singer/songwriter, Charmi Santos, in a one night event on July 9, 2011 at 8:00 P.M. The event will be held at 121 Grille and Restaurant, Allegro Center, Chino Roces Ave. (formerly Pasong Tamo Ext.) Makati City.
Best known for minimalist lyrics in imaginary languages, soaring vocal pyrotechnics and atmospheric arrangements, Sugar Hiccup has been responsible for indie rock classics such as “Five Years,” “Moden De,”“Bleed” and “Awa.”
Sugar Hiccup members namely Jeanette Reyna – Jorge, adds her own energy and tinge to the bands classics with a voice classification of soprano. Joining her as she performs during their gigs is her trusted Zeta electric violin adding a new facet to the band’s haunting trademark hits. Jeanette also writes songs for the band, getting inspiration from Bjork, Regina Spektor and You Tube musical insurgents Pomplamoose as well as her fellow band members.
Founding member and bassist Russel Dacasin continues to be a pillar of the band. More than just an anchor to the band’s roots, Russel himself constantly evolves and innovates, reflecting eclectic influences that range from Black Sabbath to the Railway Children to Portishead.
Jamee Orcino, on drums, is the man who not only provides the band’s heartbeat but also conducts its crescendo with his drumsticks. More than just a basher of skins, he has a softer side that allows each band mate to shine for his and her solo.
Bone Pagligaran, is the man behind Sugar Hiccup’s riffs and chords that bring new life to the band’s music. He gets inspiration from blues-rock which shows emotions and his fascination for progressive rock is evident in the way he plucks his six strings with perfection. Back to back with Sugar Hiccup is Charmi Santos, who is not only a marketing associate of Ayala Land but is also a singer- slash- songwriter. Charmi once joined in the 1st Elements National Songwriting Camp held last November 2010, wherein the participant’s are honed as musicians, songwriters and artists. Charmi got her inspiration in music from her dad who is also a musician. Her original songs “Dreaming Away” , “Tinkerbell’s Theme” and more can be found at Soundclick.com.
Joining Charmi on July 9 is her fellow camper and camp buddy Jessan Mirador and highschool buddies Roanne Guillermo and Mead Llorador.
