Stephen Curry has risen as one of this generation’s most outstanding NBA players, despite being previously overlooked after being drafted seventh overall in 2009. Even with his rise to superstardom, he hasn’t been paid like one — until now. After all, he’s done so much for a franchise that desperately needed the help.

Curry just finalized a $201 million, five-year deal with his team, the Golden State Warriors, initially the richest deal, until James Harden’s $228-million contract with the Houston Rockets.

The two-time NBA MVP will now earn $40 million per season, after earning $12 million this season. Steph averaged 28.1 points in the playoffs, with 6.7 assists and 6.2 rebounds.
