For this year, 26 teams from different organizations coming from various schools all ver Luzon accepted the challenge. These teams of three competed with each other last September 15 at the Engineering Theater, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.

The competition began  with the elimination round where every part of the teams took an examination. After this, the scores of each team were averaged according to the individual scores of its members. The top 10 teams who got the highest average scores were then chosen for the semifinals. These were composed of the following teams: UP Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors Team A, UP Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors Team B, UP Industrial Engineering Club Team B, UP Industrial Engineering Club Team A, Ateneo Mathematics Society Team B, Ateneo Statistics Circle, UP Diliman – Department of Computer Science, Ateneo Mathematics Society Team A, Technological University of the Philippines –Manila, and UP Diliman-College of Business Administration.

These teams faced each other again. There were three levels in that round: easy, average, and difficult. Each question was very clever, and they were only given a few seconds to answer each of them.

Apart from these 10 teams, top three individual scorers were also recognized. Harveline U. Bondad was on the 3rd place while John Russell Virata ended up on 2nd. Lizabeth Ann Franco, meanwhile, was the one with the highest points.

At the end of the semifinals, only Ateneo Statistics Circle, Ateneo Mathematics Society Team B, UP Industrial Engineering Club Team B, UP Industrial Engineering Club Team A, and Ateneo Mathematics Society Team A remained and qualified for the final round.

After the final round, the top three teams with the highest scores were proclaimed as the winners. The UP Industrial Engineering Club Team B landed on the 3rd place and received P4000 + trophy, medals and gift packs while the Ateneo Mathematics Society Team B bagged the second place and received P7000 + trophy, medals and gift packs.
