Spotify Just Offered Barack Obama A New Job As “President of Playlists”

Come January 20th, Barack Obama is due to exit the White House as the 44th President of the United States.

And now that it seems Mr. Obama is out of a job, as the current US President expressed his desire to work at Spotify when his term ends.

Well, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek was gracious enough to humor the President when he put up an ad placement searching for a “President of Playlists”. The requirements? You must have have at least eight years experience running a highly-regarded nation, “Someone with good team spirit, excellent work ethic, a friendly and warm attitude, and a Nobel Peace Prize.” Sound familiar?

Daniel even alerted President Obama to the fun little ad placement over at Twitter.

The job description includes identifying new playlist ideas, “e.g. from a playlist for shooting hoops with your friends, to the perfect warm up playlist for addressing the nation about health care legislation that bears your name.”

More on the “what you’ll do” section also entails having good relationships with a wide range of artists and musicians. “Ever had Kendrick Lamar play at your birthday bash? We’d love to hear about it!”

The “President of Playlists” must also be able to talk about the playlists at press events, making sure that he is “nothing short of one of the greatest speakers of all time.”

Of course, the ad placement is just a fun little tribute to one of the most charismatic world leaders — but hey, if it happens, that would be interesting!
