The Ateneo Special Education Society, more commonly known as Ateneo SPEED, is the premier organization of theAteneo de Manila University that caters to persons with special needs (PWSNs).The organization is mainly known for their collaborations with different sectors for area immersions and advocacy projects.
Every year, the Ateneo SPEED holds SPLENDOUR, a promenade which allows students and residents from Ateneo SPEED’s partner areas as well as people with special needs from other external organizations to enjoy an evening filled with performances, games, food, and dancing, together with their dates. SPLENDOUR has always been the most-anticipated project of the organization and the PWSNs, and through this, the event creates a unique opportunity wherein the PWSNs will be able to interact with various people and further develop their social skills.
At the same time, it also allows their dates to gain a better understanding ofthe organization’s advocacy for PWSNs through interaction.
This year, Ateneo SPEED proudly presents SPLENDOUR 2016 which will be held on November 19 at the Renaissance Convention Center from 5 – 9:30pm. Look no further as we are bringing you all the way back to the 1970s as SPLENDOUR 2016 gives you the chance to get your groove on and dance underneath the shining and sparkling lights of a discoball. Filled with games and exciting performances, this event is something you wouldn’t want to miss.
