When in Manila, how do you plan to spend this Mother’s Day with your family? Nothing beats sitting down to a home-cooked meal to celebrate the main woman in our lives; I personally enjoy our family’s collective Mother’s Day celeb when we have our reunions in May. For this year though, why not treat your mom to something a bit more luxurious? She deserves it anyway!
By luxurious, I mean a five-star dining experience at non other than Sofitel Manila’s Spiral Buffet, with no less than an array of heirloom recipes from some of the country’s premier celebrity chefs. For this year’s Mother’s Day celebration, Sofitel’s team of chefs collaborates with notable names in the local culinary scene to produce a selection of home-cooked favorites that will be included in the Spiral buffet lineup for Mother’s Day weekend (May 8 to 10). Sink your teeth into the house specialties of celebrity chefs Mia Manuel, Nina Daza-Puyat and Judy Ann Santos and get the chance to meet them as they join the festivities for Mother’s Day Brunch at Spiral on May 10.

The feast promises an assortment of dishes inspired by family vacations abroad, recipes passed down from one generation to the next, and an ongoing legacy of culinary genius that clearly runs in the family. Chef Mia Manuel’s Gravlax and Cream Cheesecake is a decadent and tangy treat that’s sure to delight the palate, while chef Suzette Montinola’s Whole-Baked Lapu-Lapu and Tita Moning’s Beef Osso Bucco Gremalota offered a symphony of rich flavors with a distinct Spanish flair, inspired by her grandmother Doña Ramona “Tita Moning”’s cooking.
Spiral will also be offering a photo booth during Mother’s Day weekend for families to capture the occasion. For a sweet treat, Spiral 2 Go will also be offering special Mother’s Day chocolate gifts as created by their Spiral’s resident chocolatier.

Not to leave all the dads out of the celebration, Sofitel has also prepared something special for the man of the house this June. To mark the Father’s Day festivities, Spiral teams up with renowned Filipino chefs Sandy Daza and Ariel Manuel as they showcase a selection of their signature dishes for all fathers and families to enjoy. Chef Ariel Manuel’s European travels are well represented in his Roasted Quail with Maple and Beef Salpicao with Mustard specialties, while celebrity chef Sandy Daza wows the palate with his versions of Crispy Chicken in Hoisin Sauce and Beef Burgundy.
