‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2’ has started production

Some sense of normalcy is returning.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has officially started production.

Animator Nick Kondo confirmed this on social media earlier. He wrote, “first day on the job.” He posted this including a short teaser that does not reveal anything else but the possible release year, which is 2022. The clip contained no real clues as to what the sequel will be all about, but it certainly started the hype on social media.

While there is not a lot of information about the sequel, the story will focus on Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy’s romance between two universes.

This is a piece of much-needed good news for Sony’s Spider-Man universe since Morbius and Venom 2 are postponed. These films were supposed to be released in theaters this summer and fall, respectively.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man 3 production might be delayed too. It was supposed to begin shooting this summer, but with the pandemic, that might not seem possible.

Even Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 experienced a slight delay from April 2022 to October, so fans have been waiting for some type of good news to come along.

Spider Man Into the Spider Verse 2

Originally, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 was scheduled to hit theaters on April 8, 2022, but its release date was moved to October 7, 2022, back in April.
