Soul Food: Urban Angels San Diego Volunteer Program

When In San Diego, California, and looking for a great way to feed your soul and positively impact the lives of others, then lend a helping hand at Urban Angels.

 

 

Urban Angels positively impacts the lives of San Diego’s less fortunate by providing nutritional meals and empowering individuals in the community to create a new generation of philanthropic leaders. 

Urban Angels Started with a small group of friends who wanted to help contribute to the problem of homelessness.  They all gathered resources from their businesses and started to serve meals down at the salvation army on Wednesday nights.  Since then, they have evolved to servicing over 500 nutritional meals to the homeless through Connection Housing and the Salvation Army, Mondays through Thursdays.  They believe that the less fortunate population should be able to have the opportunity to live a healthier life.  What you eat is a big influence on how you feel. 

San Diego has the 3rd largest homeless population in the Unite States. 

 

 

The urban Angels organization provides a care free environment that allows people to be themselves.  The programs develops new leaders by providing opportunities to become a community leader within the organization.  Organically it has become a source of networking for like minded individuals who want to give back.  Volunteers have developed long lasting friendships over the past four years. It’s nice to tell people that you met your new friends volunteering, while feeding the less fortunate. In the end, we all want to give back and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

If you would like to help, our suggestion is to come down and experience Urban Angels for yourself.  There are no words that can express what you can get from helping out.

 

 

 

 

We ask that people spread the word about Urban Angels. What word are we spreading?  Spread the experiences that you have while helping out; and you can do this simply through social media. Be part of this new wave of Community leaders.  The time is now! This is a paradigm shift of how nonprofit volunteering is  perceived. We want this to be a fun thing to do in San Diego
