The Slay Shirt: For Every Purchase, a Shirt Will be Given to the Homeless

When it comes to t-shirts, fashion and comfort are important, sure; but what if I tell you that you can help out people in need by purchasing one of these adorable smiley shirts from The Slay Shirt? That’s right. You can look good, feel good, and do a good deed all at the same time by buying one (or more) of these shirts.

Each shirt from The Slay Shirt is hand-embroidered and 100% locally produced here in the Philippines; and for every purchase, a smiley shirt is donated to a homeless or less fortunate child.

As you can see, the shirts are incredibly adorable and since the design is quite simple, it’s pretty easy to match them with any other items you might find in your closet. They’re incredibly airy and light, too, which I find is very important when choosing shirts to wear on the daily in the hot and humid weather in this country.

That aside, they also prove to be great conversation starters. A lot of people have asked about the cute face on my shirt, which opens up the conversation for The Slay Shirt’s advocacy and in turn opens up more opportunities for people to help out.

They come in different colours, too. Just check out this cute pink one!

Ayra Tolledo, owner of The Slay Shirt, shares how this concept came about back in November 2016: “It was a long weekend and almost everyone was out of town. I didn’t get to plan anything for my own getaway and thought I could use that free time for some introspection. We were approaching the end of the year by then, so I decided to check up on my yearly “bucket list”. The only things left were an outreach activity and clothing production. That’s when I realized I could actually hit two birds with one stone. What started out as a “passion project” that speaks for anyone with “a happy heart and a helping hand” is now growing as a brand that aims to make as much positive impact as possible.”

We definitely love the concept behind The Slay Shirt and would love to help out as much as possible. Since the brand is celebrating their anniversary soon and will be slaying it with another outreach activity, we’d like to help them find more volunteers to drop off another batch of smiley shirts outside Metro Manila.
If you’re interested in being a part of their giving trip, feel free to contact them through their social media accounts below. You can also collaborate with them through a joint outreach, and they are open to sponsoring a number of smiley shirts to be given away to your chosen beneficiaries.
