When in Manila and looking for an affordable fine dining experience, Ace has got you covered. Ace, most famously known for its Water Spa, actually also has a Hotel and Suites, a Sky High Bar and now the Sky Garden.
Sky Garden, located at the 8th floor of Ace Hotel and Suites, is an affordable fine dining restaurant that isn’t just reasonably priced, but is also really good. The Ace building is pretty impressive, in general. I always pass by it, but I never really had the chance to take a look inside. They have soft touch elevator buttons and automatic doors.
As soon as you enter Sky Garden, you’ll automatically see an outdoor garden overlooking the city.
It’s perfect by night as you can see the twinkling lights of the buildings in Mandaluyong.
The garden area is also perfect for birthdays, engagement parties, and romantic surprises.
In the middle of the restaurant is a display area flowers, giving a romantic vibe to the whole restaurant. The table setting is simple and romantic with candle accents.
As soon as we were seated, we were served the starter.
Garlic Bread with Mushroom Antipasto
The garlic bread is very crispy on the outside and very smooth and buttery in the inside, while the antipasto is very gooey and cheezy. They go perfectly well together and will get you going for the rest of dinner.
 Appetizer: Shrimp and Curry

We’re used to yellow curry, so this looks a bit unusual, but it has the same taste. The shrimps are served cold and you can opt to dip it in the spicy curry paste.
 Soup: Cream of Pumpkin and Carrot
The soup is really creamy and silky. You can clearly taste the pumpkin and a hint of carrot in it.
Salad: Mixed Greens with Red Wine Vinaigrette
I am not a big fan of salad unless the dressing is really good. This salad has a really sweet dressing, which balances out the flavors of the greens and its hint of bleu cheese.
Lemon Sherbet in Aloe Vera Juice
After the explosion of flavors, a palate cleanser is served. A palate cleanser is usually served before the main course to clean out the tongue.
