Shootout in SM North Edsa on December 15

Christmas shoppers rushed into the different shops as a shootout took place inside SM North EDSA at around 8:00pm today, Dec. 15, 2013. According to social media pages, a burglary took place at a jewelry store inside the mall. As the burglars tried to escape, they engaged the security guards in a shootout. Other reports however claim that no shooting took place and a hammer was once again the culprit in this robbery.

Mall goers were immediately asked to evacuate the premises while others transferred to the other building.

A friend of mine was there during the incident. She didn’t personally hear the gun shots but got first hand experience of the chaos that ensued after. Everyone was running to safety and moms and kids were crying in fear. There is still no word if the robbers had already been caught, but according to my friend, everything is normal in the other building of SM North – as if nothing happened.
