Shaq Explains Why His WrestleMania Gig Fell Through

Looks like WWE really lucked out with Shaq.with the 7-footers calling each other out for nearly a year in the hopes of colliding in the squared circle at the biggest wrestling event of the year, but sadly it never happened.

Shaq O'Neal WWE Big Show

Wrestlemania 33 was one of the matches that have been planned for the longest time, featuring an exciting bout between the giants The Big Show and Shaquille O’Neal, which would have drawn a huge non-wrestling crowd. The two have been calling out each other for nearly a year, drumming up anticipation for one of literally the biggest fights on the WWE, but sadly, it never happened.

The retired NBA star set the record straight on his podcast, saying, “They [WWE] kept playing”, putting his finger on the wrestling program’s management.

“First, they said it was me and Big Show. Then, they said it was going to be 3-on-3. Then, they canceled it so when they canceled it, I made other arrangements. And then they tried to call back and tried to get it done, and I just said, ‘I’m not going to do it.’ They messed it up.”

Shaq’s co-host, John Kincade, asked if he was afraid that he would lose in the showdown against Big Show if the WWE script says so. Shaq, however, debunked the assumption, saying that he was willing to take a loss “for the kids.”
