Lega won’t leave Atio’s side, up until the very end.
Dogs are truly man’s best friend, and it’s so heartbreaking to see the aftermath of what this does to a dog when one’s owner unexpectedly leaves them.
This photo of Lega, law freshman Horacio Castillo III’s golden retriever, has been posted on Instagram by Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, and has been breaking the hearts of netizens.
The country has followed the story of Horacio, also known as Atio the past few days, who reportedly died due to hazing while undergoing initiation for Aegis Juris, a law-based fraternity in the University of Santo Tomas.
The senator posted:
This scene is heartbreaking. Atio Castillo’s loyal dog Lega did not want to leave her best friend’s side last night at the last day of Atio’s wake. So sad ??#HustisyaParaKayHoracio
Atio’s uncle Gerardo Castillo also talked about Lega in an earlier post, saying that she visits Atio’s bedroom, wondering why he has not come home yet.
“My dearest Atio Lega misses you so bad that she wants to kiss you but she cannot comprehend why you are no longer with her. I see Lega and it seems she sees you still and really cries at night . Do you know Atio she goes to your room and wonder why you have not come home yet but I know she knows something must have gone wrong.”
