Funny story, so after going to the Saosin concert in Manila, Philippines and wishing that I could have met the band, I see a Facebook status update from my friend, Karen, who apparently works for Pulp Magazine saying:

“will bring Saosin to the airport in a few hours, get back home sleep a little, wake up and go to a five hour feng shui seminar… where was cobra when I needed it??”

Along with a few other picture, videos and status updates such as:

“Took this backstage from my phone. Poor you if you missed this show”

“Justin of Saosin takes down balut”

Damnit!!! Should have checked if any of my friends had access to the Saosin Concert!… I swear I know someone who knows someone who has a cousin that has a friend that knows someone who can get me anything I want here in the Philippines….

Either way, it was AWESOME seeing the Saosin concert LIVE at the A-Venue in Makati.

Saosin is an American post-hardcore band originally hailing from Newport Beach, California, formed in 2003. The band currently consists of vocalist Cove Reber, guitarists Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski, bassist Chris Sorenson, and drummer Alex Rodriguez.

Anthony Green, the former vocalist, had initially suggested the name “Saosin” for the band. Saosin means “small heart” as well as “be careful” in Chinese (小心 xiao xin). The word comes from a 15th century proverb about fathers telling their sons who are being married off for money not to get emotionally involved with their wives, (who could die at any time.) Green explained the meaning behind this as being a reference to the fact that nothing is eternal, and that it is a mistake to become overly attached to any one thing, because that thing WILL eventually be lost. Whilst Green’s interpretation of the word 小心 xiao xin is obscure, 小心 xiao xin is generally used in Chinese as a means to express caution.

The song used in the video is Saosin’s song titled Sleepers from their self-titled first album Saosin.

    I feel bad that I had a chance to watch the concert because somebody scored two tickets for me unfortunately my work gets in the way so I wasn’t able to watch..:(
