Sandpoint Idaho Burgers is a one-of-a-kind burger bar, using hand crafted potato buns. The potatoes used for the buns come from Idaho, USA, a state famous for its homegrown potatoes. This makes the burger buns denser, more flavorful, and just a heck of a lot more interesting in enhancing the flavor of their burgers.
We’ve seen various burger challenges spread out across the Metro: finish a ginormous burger in a matter of minutes: get the burger for free, and win a shirt as well as bragging rights. But what Sandpoint Idaho Burgers has in store, I bet that you aren’t ready for this…
Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you: THE COLOSSUS.
Now just what the heck is this glorious, and very possibly deadly creation?!
Well, the Colossus is a whopping 2.5 kilo monster of a burger, with a huge potato bun, and all-natural 100% beef pure Idaho beef patty (that alone weighs 1.5 kilos!!!), lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapple, bacon strips, a Sandpoint special swiss and cheddar cheese, all slathered with a special Sandpoint sauce that makes it all the more AH-MA-ZING.
Do we hear jaws dropping? Yes, we do.
This is, to date, the biggest burger we have ever seen in the entire Metro. And the taste does not disappoint, either. After all, you can’t go wrong with pure homegrown beef, and the right cheese to go with it is always an excellent idea. The Sandpoint sauce is definitely the only sauce you will ever need for this behemoth of a burger, that provides the extra zing on top of a long list of ingredients.
And the potato buns? These special buns add an interesting layer to this burger, in terms of flavor and texture. It’s somewhat sweeter than an average bun, resembling more of a panini in terms of flavor and texture. And don’t we all love our sandwiches to be special?
Finish the Colossus in 20 minutes and get the burger for free, as well as a free I Crushed Colossus T-shirt, and a spot on the Colossus Wall of Fame. Definitely for the bravest of souls, and strongest of stomachs.
