Rue Bourbon Tagaytay: Cool Beers, Cool Weather, Cool New Location

Almost everyone is familiar with Rue Bourbon. In fact, we’ve featured their other branches before. We highlighted the extended food menu in their Salcedo Village, Makati branch; we tasted their different cocktails and shots; and we figured out the best food to pair with their Big Ass Flavored Beers here: Rue Bourbon: Bringing Together Great Food and Great (Flavored) Booze.

Now, we are here to highlight probably the best and coolest news that you might have heard of Rue Bourbon to date: they have just opened a branch at Sky Ranch, Tagaytay!

I first heard about the opening of Rue Bourbon Tagaytay from my resident partner in crime, and it was just in passing because we were planning a trip to Tagaytay one weekend. “Hey, my friend is opening some place called Rue in Tagaytay. Let’s drop by and support him,” he said. “Rue… BOURBON?!?? In Tagaytay?!??” He had no idea. So we set out to find out more and yes, it was indeed Rue Bourbon Tagaytay.

Say Hello to Rue Bourbon Tagaytay!

We arrived in Tagaytay on Sunday afternoon and had we known earlier that Rue Bourbon Tagaytay serves lunch on Sundays, we would’ve gone there earlier, left, and gone back at night for drinks. Unfortunately, we didn’t know at that time (it’s now on our bucket list, though!); so we went for an early dinner with a Big Ass Flavored Beer each, pestered our friends in Manila after our Big Ass Flavored Beers and forced them to come by, and had more food and drinks with them when they arrived.

Since we arrived pretty early, we pretty much had Rue Bourbon Tagaytay to ourselves. Naturally, that meant getting trigger-happy. Just check out how great the place looks:

The moment I set eyes on Rue Bourbon Tagaytay, my heart skipped a beat. It looked exactly the way I imagined it would: rustic, cozy, comfortable and like home. The moment I walked in, though, everything changed… and I mean that in the best way possible. The interiors were mind-blowing! It’s like we had stepped into a time portal and got transported to the best ages of New Orleans. (Think “Interview with the Vampire”.)

Their bar is well-stocked, even boasting of hard-to-find drinks (or do I just not know where to look?), like Southern Comfort and Frangelico. The bartenders know a few magic tricks, too. Make sure to ask them about it. :p

Wooden barstools and tables with plush vintage designs abound in one area.

They also have these beer keg bar tables that I instantly fell in love with.

Masks are also part of the decor to exude that New Orlean’s Mardi Gras vibe.

This is sure to become the favorite nook of solo visitors, especially during the day. Imagine reading a book here. Just imagine it. <3

This is definitely my favorite area of Rue Bourbon Tagaytay, though. For just a minimum consumable fee of Php20,000; you can already rent out this room for you and up to 20 or so of your friends and have the party of your life. Definitely booking this place for my next birthday!

Now onto the drinks and food!
