Girls just wanna have fun. It can be in the form of shopping, eating out, pampering — the list goes on. However, joining the second Roxy Outdoor Fitness Girls Camp earlier this month, we were treated to a different kind of fun: one that involved the beach, the sun and several other activities exclusive to the campers!
We arrived at Crystal Beach Resort eager and looking forward to what awaits us for the duration of our stay. Once we stepped out of the van, we were greeted by paradise — a cool breeze, tall trees, coarse sand, and big and small waves crashing on the shore. By then, I knew that good things were bound to happen.
Our home for the weekend—our very own glamping site! The setup had a very boho chic-beach vibe with nice spacious glamping tents, wooden tables and benches, and a lounging area with plush pillows, colorful mats and surfboards on display.
We were assigned different roommates to get to know other girls at the camp. Yay to new friends!
We dropped off our bags and rested for a bit before proceeding to the first activity, where we were greeted by these goodies courtesy of the event sponsors: beauty loot, refreshing drinks, rash guards and accessories, gift certificates and more! The first hour at camp already screamed of so much fun!
So, off to our adventures for Day 1! We began our day with surfing lessons, which the beach provided the perfect setup of (the waves were not overwhelming and perfectly safe for beginners!). The surfing instructors were a funny and good bunch—from the in-land orientation to the actual surfing on the water, they were patient and encouraging and never let their students down. In no time, most of us campers were already riding the waves!
